At G@W, Nisreen is contributing to the upcoming publication on gender, organizations and institutional change. Her contribution will focus on strategies used by Gender Responsive Budgeting work to introduce changes in governments’ planning and budgeting processes. She is also supporting a Gender at Work initiative in Palestine.

Where else she has worked

Until recently, Nisreen was working as Policy Advisor with UN Women on Governance and National Planning. Between 2002 and 2012, she led the work of UNIFEM and UN Women on Gender Responsive Budgeting.

Other work on gender and institutional change

Nisreen is a socio economist, who currently works as a development consultant in the Arab region. She is researching women’s economic participation in the Arab Region in light of ongoing transitions. She will continue to contribute to the debate on issues and opportunities for social justice and gender equality in the region.
