Solange has been doing consultancy work in Mozambique on popular education training, evaluation, planning and institutional development with Fórum Mulher (Women's Forum), as well as working with Gender Action Learning (design, facilitation skills, training) with Oxfam Canada and Oxfam Solidarité Belgian partners.

Where else she has worked
After a long professional and academic career in Brazil, Solange established residence in Cape Town, South Africa. Her work over the past 20 years has mainly focused on feminist organization of women and youth promoting rights, with a strong emphasis on women’s health, HIV-Aids and education. She has a doctorate in Applied Social Sciences and has been working on academic research projects at the Department of Public Policy at the Federal University of Pernambuco, Brazil, the University of Cape Town, South Africa and the Centre for African Studies at the University Eduardo Mondlane, Mozambique.
Other work on gender and institutional change
Solange has much experience in strategies and policies for gender incorporation in plans, programmes, projects and organizational development with NGO, bilateral and governmental organizations. She was part of the evaluation team’s program which focused on women's entrepreneurship with the African Development Bank and Ministry of Women and Social Action in Mozambique. She was also part of the research team which focused on "Monitoring Aid Effectiveness from a Gender Perspective", a participatory study commissioned by UN Women (previously called INSTRAW/headquarters in Santo Domingo), with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Spanish Development Cooperation. She developed the Strategy and Action Plan (2012-2017) for the National Institute of Disaster Management (INGC) Mozambique, with support of UN Women for the integration of gender issues in programs and activities at the institutional level concerned with Disaster Management.
