Sylvie Desautels
Sylvie has lived and worked in Mozambique since 1994, her new home country. She has worked with international NGOs like Oxfam and CUSO, on topics such as capacity development of civil society organizations, programs focused on gender based violence, rural development, trade unionism and governance. In the 80’s and early 90’s, Sylvie was involved in the Quebec-Canadian feminist movement and involved in international solidarity organizations, where she undertook advocacy, popular education and publications. Joining Gender at Work has allowed her to reconnect with people reflecting on their practice and to discover more about learning and transformational methodologies. Sylvie has had the privilege to facilitate Gender Action-Learning processes in Mozambique and West Africa since 2014. She currently works as a consultant, where she cultivates collaborations with feminist and social justice fellows.
