Our Projects

Our projects engage actors at several levels—from local grassroots organisations to regional, international and UN partnerships. All our work is underpinned by our values: feminist, collaborative, integrated whole, respectful, transformative, learning, diversity and inclusive, and intersectionality.

Building cultures of equity and inclusion

Engaging individuals and institutions from the grassroots up to governments, our projects are designed in collaboration with donors, partners and communities, and delivered by our international network of expert Associates, working in multiple languages.

Through this page you can learn about some of our current and recent past projects.

We also engage in shorter-term and smaller-scale projects, evaluations and trainings.

Power Up!

The Power of Storytelling

Using storytelling as an entry point to inform research, programming and action, this five-year initiative aims to understand pathways and factors that lead to changes in social norms, which in turn can influence transformative shifts towards gender equality and social inclusion.

Partnering Up to Advance Gender Equality in Development Research

Starting in 2016, Gender at Work has been on a collective journey to enhance gender integration within development research institutions with the Canadian International Development Research Center (IDRC). Male Allyship for Gender Equality

Equimundo – Center for Masculinities and Social Justice approached Gender at Work to collaborate on the initial phase of this project, to explore the potential for developing norms and standards for male allyship programmes, and to document a range of approaches (through case studies) to male allyship and women’s leadership.
